Has anyone worked with Babeeni, which makes children's clothing, or Asia Crafts Co. Ltd. They both make children's clothing and are listed on Alibaba. They accept Paypal, Western Union and Transfer for payment. Is it atypical for a company to want all payment up front, and to not accept credit card? I have not found any negitive information about them, so think they might be just fine. I do wish that I could use a credit card for protection. New to the business world...do most companies (even in Asia) accept credit? How does one find out more about this company?:).

Hi everyone, I have not been scammed yet with alibaba (and the 40 thieves) but yes I have been scammed before and I know how you can feel. It might be a bit late but please read these points for future internet trades:

1. Never ever pay by cash before shipping, EVER!
2. If you are an individual and want to buy electronics, go on ebay or else, don't buy "cheap" "samples" from "BIG" Asian companies.
3. If you insist on buying from these types of business, pay by CREDIT CARD only, no wire no cash no western union and co. You might even use an Escrow service (Alibaba has one) then trust me when you will pronounce the word "escrow service" your dear supplier will disapear for ever.
4. If you are into business import use an LC with your bank for payment and make sure not to send any money in advance.
5. What I found out with scammers is that they drop price so fast so it's a good test as bargain and immediate win is not usual in real business life competition is hard and making some profit is not that easy, also everything is included, like VAT that you MUST pay when importing goods! No asian company could pay the VAT for you even if they wanted to or unless they have a working biz in Europe. So the last scammers I found told me they will pay the VAT for me! LOL.

In my business we pay AFTER receiving the goods, and most of trusted worldwide business goes like that.
I don't want to sound like teaching anything here, but I intend to apply these few steps to avoid to get scammed... again.
