I was new to Alibaba.com, and I was looking for a laptop and cell phone. So I left my buying request on alibaba.com after that I started getting replies from the suppliers.
One supplier gave me very good price, then I spoke to the agent.
As I am a regular buyer of EBAY. I trusted these guys. But this time I didnt know that I will be cheated
by them I sent them money through western union, since they received money they stopped answering my emails and phones.
After several days I got one email, agent told me that we have shipped your goods and you will receive that soon. That “SOON” came after 25 toughest days. And I received one small package with 4 usb flash drives inside, that dont even cost 20US$.
This is how I lost my 520us$ and trust on Alibaba.com

We all have our horror stories from AliBaba, I have been trading online with China and trough AliBaba for the past two years. Have I lost money yet? Not directly. I have received items that were not up to standard or description. I was able to recover my cost, though. Here is what I am really trying to say. DUE DILIGENCE. Nothing more important than due diligence. The saying "if it is too good....." is certainly true. Get those offers, have a good laugh, toy with them a little, although maintain professionalism (read: no swearing/ insulting/ general rudeness). Let's face it, they may not have ethics or a straight bone in their body, but they have a vast pool of idiots looking for a quick buck and/or the deal of the century but are too lazy to actually look for it. AliBaba sellers (good and bad) will always try to get you to commit to a deal immediately. It's their job. Those guys are 18- 35 year olds whose only job it isto talk to you. They have no product knowledge or technical skills. Well, I am talking mobile phone selling people here. I ve possibly three companies in my listing from whom I would buy mobilephones. But I have a folder full of 357 offers and quotations. Such is the ratio on AliBaba. i really is up to you to make the right choice, and you have to take and invest your time and do the research. You have to ask them a million questions. You have to see how they reply to those. Are you happy with their answers? Do they show you that they know their product or even have one in their hand? Get actual pictures. I ask my suppliers to send me actual pictures, even with the daily newspaper showing, abduction style. Why not? Those guys want to take as much from you as you are unwilling to give. If you are unable to hold your in a turkish bazaar (figure of speech), AliBaba is the wrong place for you. As said before, take your time. Get offers from as many as you can, get a median price, compare specs (a product often looks the same, bus vastly different specs), cool off, take a week to decide. They will write to you and inundate you with "How are you? Whats wrong?" emails. Ignore them. It is your money, you make the choices and call the shots as much as possible. Those guys have MOQs, a business transaction has to be worthwhile for them as well. So we get the good old sample/ trial order, with a small premium. Get an agent or proxy, somebody from an international company to act as receiver for the money who then pays those guys after sighting the goods. That goes for TT and the case that the goods are close by. Get knowledgeable about the area you are buying from. Futian is good for electronics and gadgets. Ningbo is great in anything plastic with an electric motor. Foshan is ceramic and sanitary. There is a pattern to China, you just have to see it. You cannot buy anything from anywhere. You don't buy tires from Hebei, because tires and petro-chemical industry sits in Qingdao. Things are simpler than you think. But think before you buy. Internatonal brand name laptops ARE NOT cheaper than China brand ones. How? BlackBerrys cost more than US$ 30. There are no free gifts and "buy 5 and get 20 free"!!! There is no free shipping. Good cue, use your own shipping agency. Get COD via UPS. If you can't trust UPS, who can you trust. No, I don't work for them. If you are in it for the long haul, get a sourcing office with long standing history. Do not deal with new guys, except if they can really convince you that they are the real deal. We all started once and were the newbies. Everyone deserves a chance. TT payments are fine, as long as company name and beneficiary match. I read somewhere that it is hard to open up phony bank account with a company name. It is true. Same goes for opening a company. Read it up on the net what it takes to open a trading office in PRC. CRAZY! Do not pay by WU, always true. PayPal? 50/50. L/C? Good luck for under 50.000 or FCL. Forget about the notion that you will be able to recover ANYTHING if you have been taken for a ride. Write it off and move on with life. Seriously. I said in the beginning that I have not lost any money yet. But I know that I will. Tell me you went to Vegas and came out on top 10 for 10. No way. But that is trade all over the world, not just here. Here it has just been made a little easier to make money and lose it, too. The concept must be good, otherwise we would not all be on it. To sum it up ( Icould write a lot more...!), be vigilant, never trust until you are sur you can, and then back a little again. Choose the right payment method for your product. Don't buy mobilephones and expect the world. Same goes for brand laptops. 2nd Hand, maybe. But really, if we get scammed, it is our own bloody fault. We are the fixers, they are the dealers.

The scam that I was victim works like this. You look for a cell phone and find a nice deal in a web announce.
The guy was pretty atencious call you and send e-mails. you deal a cell phone for US$ 300 and he give you 100% guarantee and said he are a register British company blah blah blah. So you transfer the money thru Western Union and the guy ask for more money, because he can't ship just one phone, so you need to pay for 3 phone and will receive one for free.
The guy( Andrea Ivan ) how apply de scam use this references to money transfers:

Do not buy anything or trust this so called company on ALIBABA - "NINGBO RISING INTERNATIONAL".
We bought around 27 Apple Iphones 3GS 32GB that costed us $3000. After that we transferred the money, they confirmed with us and told us that they will be providing us with a tracking number. Everything was running smoothly, until they disappeared, and never came back with a tracking number. Now we dont know if we will be receiving our phones or not, but its most probably a NO more than a YES, because this is surely another ALIBABA SCAM.
I suggest nobody buys and trusts any suppliers from ALIBABA. They are all cheaters.

I recently inquired about a scope with Bella Optics out of Indonesia. I spoke with Hadi Sumarno who told me, I would have to buy 2 items on my first order and it must be paid for via bank transfer. The total price would be $1400 u.s. dollars and they would pay for shipping to me. $1400 for 2 scopes sounds like a good deal as these go for over $3000 a piece here in the United States. I felt the deal was a little fishy so I pleded to buy only one item at first. Hadi agreed to the idea. A couple days later, Hadi was emailing me bugging me for the payment. I told Hadi, I only had 500 dollars in my bank account. Later Hadi told me to make a payment of 500 dollars and that would cover the product. This must be a scam, there is no way Bella Optics could make this product and sell it this cheap. It is scammer all the way. Don't trust Bella Optics!

Well dear loserss to keep it simple
Everyone, YES every single supplier on alibama is a scam artist including alibama who are part of the con scam
Do not be greedy and do not expect to buy a porche in china for USD 100,00 while they cost a lot more in the rest of the world. even in Nigeria porsche are not that cheap.
(And their they are proberbly selling the porsche they stole of you in the first place via another scam.
Simples. Only do business within your onw country or the western developed world.
Avoid anyone who send emails that could have been typed by my 6 year old son.
And again don't be greedy.
If it is to good to be true rember that saying
Well this still applies. and especially in China

I got scam from Qingdao Head-Tong International Co., Ltd. a gold supplier and a pioneer seller. I Western Uion them $793 for phones. They provide me fake tracking number and after a week latter I confront them about the DHL tracking number is fake. They told me that it was sent back to them. They will now send me through China post. The china post is fake. I never get my stuff. The biggest scammer is Alibaba. They are the one that provide them a pioneer seller and gold supplier. It make us buyer trust them just for that. Alibaba should give me my money back. They should back us up by providing guarenteed. With them costing their own money. I guarenteed that they will go out and check if those company are real. I will never buy anything from alibaba again or pay by Western Union. This is my first and last.

Hi all,
I have a suggestion.
Instead of writing about existing scammers and where not to buy, why don't we have a forum about ppl done business with real and trusted Alibaba companies??
That way we can know where to go to directly without getting lost through all of these scammers out there...
Thanks,

I am very surprised now. They did send me only a pair of shoes as a gift with $0.00. And the sending company is different to China Web Trade Co., Ltd
It is LV Yuan Shi Pin You Xian Gong Si

Since April 19th I get no response from that bad company.
So please beware of this veryfied Gold member. This verfication, done by Alibaba means nothing. You cannot trust it.
